This piece was born from my favorite childhood memories. I painted this while reflecting on family vacations spent on the North Carolina coast—the feeling of the salt air from the beach house deck, the sky turning deep shades of blue as the sun dipped low, and the tiny ghost crabs beginning their nightly scurry across the cooling sand. I wanted to capture that specific moment of peace when the day settles into night.
